Still feeling inspired by Martha Stewart's Turkey Hill Home. The small traditional entry (i.e. the front door opening onto the steps and other dining and living area doorways) is just like ours. Ms. Stewart had an amazing monochromatic mural commissioned for the main hall and entry. I would love to do something like that, though I am certain my husband would never go for it.
But just in-case... I've found a much faster, less expensive option at
Anthropologie--the
Etched Arcadia Mural. "Towering trees and an endless sky cover your wall in graphite-hued forestry." --sold. I especially love the "etching" in the illustration. Reminds me of the artwork on our currency. Couldn't be a better historical reference for a colonial replica.
